Vocaloid Art Works Miki.Blueprint - 11

If you're a Vocaloid fan, and an even bigger Kozaki Yusuke fan, what could be better than Kozaki Yusuke doing Vocaloid illustrations? My completely impartial answer: NOTHING. Well, if I could change one thing I would have made Kozaki Yusuke's Miki.BLUEPRINT a bit longer. But that's less of a complaint and more about just wanting more ^^

Miki.BLUEPRINT focuses entirely on the Vocaloid character that Kozaki Yusuke designed late last year, the pink-haired, robotic SF-A2 Miki. This book is A4-sized and 24-pages, with covers not included in that count. The SF-A2 Miki illustration on the cover has a plastic finish, making it stand out lightly from its paper surroundings which looks pretty neat in person.

The illustrations inside are mostly spreads, with seven spreads in total. And even with so many spreads, none of them were printed with overlap. To top it off, the binding is really tight, so unfortunately all the spreads are missing that little bit in the middle. You might also notice that the opening picture for this post and the fully dressed SF-A2 Miki laying down above are mirror images, with different outfits. Those would make for amazing dual-screen wallpapers...

Another beautiful one ^^ One thing that stands out about all the illustrations in this book is just how finished and professional they are. I'm aware that some of these were used on goods, but most are ones I haven't seen before. If that means they're newly done for Miki.BLUEPRINT, then that's even more impressive.

I love the llama-sheep. Even cuter is the way SF-A2 Miki is sprawled over it. That illustration was given away on postcard if you purchased this book during Comiket 78. I ordered my copy through Toranoana, so I didn't get a postcard, but I'm pretty sure I got a better price!

The last few pages of the book include a few sketches and a message from Kozaki Yusuke with an eyes-closed portrait version of the cover illustration. Miki.BLUEPRINT is still for sale on Toranoana, so if you've been holding out on your C78 shopping, it might be a good time to get started ^^

Oooh looks good. Definitely a good break from the usual Vocaloid fare. I wonder if I bought it...

Heh, I always move the bookmarks of the doujins I've bought to another folder to keep track. Else I'd probably end up with doubles ~_~
